WOMEN IN BLACK. Stand against occupation and war every Thursday at Westlake.
4th & Pine. 5-6 pm. Wear Black. Men can support.
June 6, Monday, Olympia, Meet MANSOUR MANSOUR, your Palestinian friend!*
(*his label, not mine) , 7:00 PM, at the Olympia Center, 222 N Columbia,
Downtown Oly. Come meet a young nonviolent activist from Palestine. Mansour
Mansour is a coordinator for the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) and the
Popular Committee Against the Wall in his village of Biddu. Biddu made headlines
in the mainstream press last year as a bulwark of nonviolent resistance
against the Israeli occupation. The world likes to lecture the Palestinians on
nonviolence. Now come meet someone who lives it, and who risks his safety everyday
to free his people from occupation and oppression. In the last year a
powerful nonviolent movement has arisen in the Palestinian villages who are losing
their land to the separation wall. This movement has all the drama and tragedy
of the Civil Rights movement of the sixties, but it is not being reported on
here in the US, due to the enormous amount of funding that the US government
gives to Israel and heavy media bias in their favor. Mansour Mansour is one of
the leading organizers in the village of Bid’du, where five Palestinians have
died in nonviolent demonstrations. Mansour studied radio and broadcasting at
nearby Bir Zeit Univeristy until oppression from the apartheid wall and
Occupation severed the resources he used to continue his education. A committed
student, he has stories of walking miles in the wet and cold weather to avoid
trouble with the Israeli military just to make it to class. As a villager, he offers
understanding from the perspective of those suffering most from this illegal
Occupation. He has worked as an activist with ISM (the International
Solidarity Movement). ISM is a Palestinian led, grassroots organization committed to
ending the unjust apartheid occupation of Palestinian lands by the state of
Israel. They use non-violent tactics and civil disobedience, a form of
resistance employed by Martin Luther King, Caesar Chavez, and Ghandi in their
respective struggles for independence and freedom.

June 11, 12-2 pm. SIDEWALK EDUCATION FOR PALESTINIAN HUMAN RIGHTS. Usually
every 2nd Saturday from 12-2 pm. We have info, banners, signs, and welcome
all anti-racists to join us. Palestine Solidarity Committee. More info:
palestinejustice@aol.com. Check our calendar for updates. Call 206 633-1086 if
you need to confirm a location. Westlake Park: 4th & Pine, downtown Seattle.

June 19, 6:30 pm **LEARN ABOUT THE SITUATION IN GAZA AND HELP REBUILD
PALESTINIAN HOMES ** Rachel Corrie worked in Rafah, Gaza Strip, with the
International Solidarity Movement, a Palestinian-led non-violent resistance movement
against the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian people. When an Israeli
bulldozer arrived to demolish the Nasrallah family home, Rachel Corrie went to stand
in its path, as she had for other Palestinian homes, in an attempt to halt the
demolition. Rachel was killed. On June 19th at 6:30PM, join a grassroots
effort to rebuild that home, and many more. Come hear Khaled and Samah Nasrallah,
one of many families whose homes have been destroyed, speak of
their lives in Gaza. Joining them will be Cindy and Craig Corrie, Rachel's
parents. The event will be held at University Friends Meeting Hall, 4001
9th NE, in Seattle. Co-sponsored by the Palestine Solidarity Committee, American
Friends Service Committee, Global Exchange, The Rebuilding Alliance, and the
Rachel Corrie Foundation. $5 -- 10 donation at the door. No one turned away
for lack of funds. For more information: www.palestineinformation.org. More

OLYMPIA-RAFAH SISTER CITY PROJECT
Although Rachel Corrie’s life was cut short, many of us were inspired by her
and have resolved to carry out her project. Beginning with a small core
group, we have steadily expanded since our formation last Spring. A number of our
members have gone to live in Rafah, building connections with people and
institutions there. We have begun a Fair Trade exchange for Palestinian artwork
through the Union of Palestinian Women, we support a Center for Disabled
Persons, we have sponsored cultural exchanges, and we offer translation between
English and Arabic for our pen-pal program. You can find out more about us, or
contact us, through our website at http://www.orscp.org/. (360) 867-0290 or via

RACHEL CORRIE REBUILDING CAMPAIGN IN GAZA
It has been two years since Rachel Corrie was killed and I need your help in
April to rebuild the home that Rachel stood to safeguard. With your help, we
will
start building in May -- just before the Gaza redeployment begins. By
rebuilding
the Nasrallah family's home this May, thousands of Americans and people
around the world will learn what is really going on in Gaza and throughout
the West Bank and Jerusalem. House parties in the US with a live audio/video
link bringing the Nasrallah family into your home, live from Gaza on April 21
(East coast) and April 22 (West coast). Cindy and Craig Corrie will also be
joining the
link from Olympia, and it will be interactive, so your questions can be asked
and
answered. If interested in hosting a house party in April, or in more
information, please contact: Donna Baranski-Walker, Director, p: 650 325-4663 f:

outreach@palestineinformation.org. with as much of the following information as you wish to
share: your name, mailing address, telephone number, and e-mail address. You
